Marion State Bank takes great pride in the fact that it is the oldest and only locally chartered bank in Union Parish. Marion State Bank was chartered on February 7, 1907, for the purpose of doing a general banking business under the laws of the State of Louisiana. In 2007, Marion State Bank celebrated its 100th anniversary in serving our area. The original stockholders were J. H. Roark, L. W. Landers, B. B. Thomas, O. H. Thompson, L. G. Everett, H. M. Lee, J. D. Crow, E. T. Powell, J. O. Hodnett, J. L. Hopkins, J. A. Dean, J. M. Wheelis, MD, R. L. Edwards, T. A. Crow, T. J. Hill, and J. M. Oliver.  The Board appointed B. B. Thomas as the first President, and he was followed in succession with J. A. Dean, O. H. Thompson, L. W. Landers, C. H. Gulley, E. T. Powell, H. D. Green, C. W. Sehon, and our current President, G. V. Sehon.

The current directors are Bobby L. Green, Chairman of the Board, George V. Sehon, Bruce M. Matte, Joel G. Taylor, Scott G. Jones and Stanton T. Elkins.

Pickel, Vice President & Cashier; Sharon K. Turner, Vice President / Executive Assistant; Donna K. Durr, Vice President Compliance / Audit, Brenda Echols, Operations Manager, Rene' Auger, Assistant Cashier  and Ben Jones, Assistant Vice President.

The Bank opened its doors in Marion during 1907 with $12,500.00 in capital. At the close of business December 31, 1965, deposits were $2,222,000.00. On May 5, 1997, the first branch was opened in Farmerville, and assets totaled $41,174,000.00. A second branch location was opened in Ouachita Parish in the Town of Sterlington on November 26, 2006.  The total assets as of December 31, 2006 were $92,284,000.00. Marion State Bank surpassed the $100 million mark in the spring of 2007.
